Hello Travelers!!

Here we are sharing our Homemade Dominican style Stewed Beef recipe:

Ingredients:

• 2 pounds of chopped beef meat, cut into 1-inch chunks
• 1 tablespoon olive oil
• 1 large cubanelle, or green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
• 1 large onion, chopped
• 4 cloves garlic, chopped
• 2 cups cilantro leaves, chopped
• 2 tablespoons white distilled vinegar
• 1 teaspoon dried oregano
• 1/2 cup tomato sauce
• 1 tablespoon salt, more to taste
• 3 large carrots, chopped
• 1/2 pound potatoes, peeled and diced
• Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Steps to Make It

-Gather the ingredients. Brown the stew meat in the olive oil for about 20 minutes in a large soup pot over medium heat. Add the cubanelle pepper, onion, garlic, cilantro, oregano, tomato sauce, 1 cup water, and salt. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 1 hour. The vegetables and tomato sauce juices should cook down into a thick sauce. You can add more water if the sauce is too thick. Turn the heat to medium after 1 hour. Add the last ingredients: carrots, potatoes, olives, salt, and pepper to taste. Reduce the heat to low when the stew begins to boil. Continue cooking over low heat until you find the tenderness or flavor you want – it could be approx. 30 min – 1 more hour.

Add oil, salt, and water over medium-high heat in a large pan or pot. Bring to a boil.
Add rice to the pot with boiling water. Lower the heat to medium. Let it cook until the rice has soaked up all the water (about 10 minutes), stirring occasionally.

Hello Travelers!!

We are glad to hear great feedback from our MEGA RANCH food. And that a lot of you are requesting our recipes.

Here we are sharing our Homemade Dominican style PASTA recipe:

Our cook is from our Farm, and she doesn’t know how to explain how she measures anything; she adds stuff and quantity to her feelings. Here are her directions:

Chop all these veggies and Sautee them in olive oil or butter: Onions, green bell peppers, and Tomatoes. Next, add some “complete seasoning powder”(a kind of seasoning powder with everything in it) and salt. Blend. And finally, add some Tomato paste plus some achiote.

That’s It!

Also: Some Dominican recipes include, when doing the Sautee, adding some bacon and Corn.

Add it to your favorite pasta!

Mega Ranch Beans Recipe

Hello Travelers!!

We are glad to hear great feedback from our MEGA RANCH food. And that a lot of you are requesting our recipes.

Here we are sharing our Homemade Dominican style bean recipe:

You take the beans (you can have them natural and boil them with a lot of water for a long until tender, or use an express pot). Or you can buy beans in a can, but we prefer to buy regular beans in the supermarket and put them to tender ourselves.

How to cook them:

Nothing has measured; our cook could not provide me with quantities; she just used to start adding ingredients according to her “feelings. “ (remember, she cooks for hundreds of people daily).

Seasoning:

Garlic,  Onions, green peppers, winter squash, sage grass, cilantro (better use the wide one), tomato paste, butter or margarine, and “complete seasoning.”

Sauté  ALL seasoning in oil, smash and mix until all is well combined.

Add the BEANS (already tenders) and start to sauté, mixing the seasoning with the beans.

Add water.

Let it boil,  and add some salt later.

If you prefer to have them creamier, take some of the squash + some beans, and some water, blend them to make a cream, and add it to the pot—(Not all, just a bit of them to make it creamier).

This is our cook recipe.

Here is a YouTube video of another recipe (close to what she does); maybe with that video (but using the ingredients of our list), you can better understand what we are talking about.

Thank you so much for joining us. And if you like our tour, don’t forget to post reviews!

Hello Adventurers!!

I hope you are all reading this blog from the safety of your homes and that you and your loved ones are safe and healthy.  For those who cannot stay at home because they need to work, from the bottom of our hearts, we THANK YOU for your efforts, and we pray for you!

Nowadays, when we are surrounded by lots of negative news and overwhelming numbers, we want to talk about the positive.  So, in today’s blog, I would want to write our top 10 things we can do to help during this sensitive time.

10 WAYS TO HELP WHILE COVID19 TIMES

    -#STAYHOME  #QUEDATEENCASA

covid19

Did you figure that a month ago, we desperately needed some “time off’ from our rushed days?  Now is the time!  So far, there is no vaccine or special treatment to cure this pandemic.  For now, WE ARE THE CURE!  By staying at home, we are not only preventing ourselves from suffering it, but we can also avoid spreading the virus and the virus charge to others.

There is no question about it! Let’s learn from the other countries that started dealing with COVID19 way before us, and that are still showing us that the only way so far to deal with it is to STAY AT HOME!

Let’s embrace this time as an opportunity to share with the loved ones who we stay at home with.  Sometimes we are close, yet so far away. Let’s talk, play, enjoy time together. Don’t forget to always wash your hands!  The best way to show our love is to STAY HOME!

COVID19 – GO TO HOSPITAL ONLY IF IT IS VITAL

covid19-1

Where do you think more of the virus charges should be at? You are right! Hospitals! So please! If you are not really sick, that your life depends on it, don’t go to the ER! First, leave the space and opportunity open for those who really need the attention.

Second, there is nothing they can do for you if you are not really sick than sending you back home to recover.  3rd, if you are not ill with Corona, you can get it there. So please, if there is no real-life need for you to go to the hospital, don’t do it!

–    ONLY BUY THE MEDICINES YOU REALLY NEED.

covid19-2

One of the biggest challenges that our hospitals are facing right now in DR is the lack of medicine to treat the COVID19.   Many people, once they heard that the Hydroxyquinoline cures COVID, went ahead and bought it for their own use.

First: It won’t serve as a prevention Medicine.

Second: It has many adverse repercussions that only could be administered by a doctor who knows if its good for you.

And third: many people REALLY needs this medicine for survival or another disease.

That’s why we’re asking, to please bring back that medicine to your nearest hospital and help save lives!

COVID19 – SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL MARKET

covid19-3

As we face new challenges, we find that no matter how difficult the path forward may be, there is strength in the community.

The support we give to one another, especially when times seem bleak, is invaluable, now and always. We want to take a moment to applaud the many who are supporting small businesses in their communities, to those neighbors who are sharing their backyard’s fruit and everybody who is putting even a little bit to make this situation better.

–    DEEP CLEAN YOUR CLOSETS AND STORAGES

covid19-4

Take advantage of these special days to deep cleaning your closets and storage area. It will not only provide you with a refresher and revitalized much needed higher energetic vibrations to your home, but it will also allow you to donate.

Open your space to let the right things come in by giving back many things to the ones who need them. As we continue a difficult journey forward together, anything we can do to support each other makes a huge difference.

COVID19 – FOOD and MATERIALS PRESERVATION

The actual situation challenges us all to better use our food and basic needs items.

There are lots of tutorial videos on YouTube that will guide us all on how to preserve better our food, how to make a lemonade jar with only 2 lemons, how to use all the components of fruit (sometimes even the skin of them). Let’s try to generate less garbage and maximized the potential of our food and home basics.

Why should you buy lots of toilet paper when you can use water and soap? Let’s use our creativity to avoid extra expending, and to enjoy life with fewer things and creating less garbage.  WE CAN DO IT!!

–     CHANGE CANCELLING FOR POSTPONING

covid19-6

We fully understand the concerns you may have during this time and are aware that many of your travel plans will have to change.

We’d like to strongly encourage you to reschedule your visit rather than cancel so that you can still enjoy the incredible experience you booked at a later date.

This is a tough time for the tourism industry, and by rescheduling your booking, you are offering much-needed support to a tourist business – as well as giving yourself a Mega adventure to look forward to in the future!

– LET’S SPREAD ONLY GOOD NEWS or CORRECT CONFIRMED ONES

Megaadventures

Nowadays, we are also suffering from another Pandemic situation: “TOO MUCH CRAP at social media.” Many people are now suffering from really high-stress levels due to all the wrong info they are receiving each day. Let’s help by NOT forwarding fake news.

Let’s stay connected with specialized organizations’ data and only forward confirmed reports. Furthermore, I dare you to find a way to send 20% verified negative news vs. sending 80% positive news! Let’s promote and change the stress level of our family and friends and deliver them with more smiles and joy than sadness.

–    INTERNET “SAVING”

Megaadventures

The actual situation has potentially increased the use of the internet. Kids are now homeschooling with it; we are all working with it, our entertaining comes from it.

Indeed, one of the most significant assets in these extraordinary times, that help us maintain a better quality of our days is the internet.   So please, let’s also help with it, as if we continue the uncontrolled use of it, we can press it to backdown.

Let’s try to watch a movie together instead of each of us watching different films at different devices. Let’s determined hours for schooling or work, so we can all use the devices for that time only, not other things that are not really needed on those hours. Let’s avoid sending fake news or videos that will only spread stress and overflow our internet service.

Let’s try to read more and play some board games, not all can be done over the “net.” Let’s give more internet space for the hospital’s and medical learning and working people because right now, it is the best way to help.

–    #LEARN #BELIVE #PRAY #LOVE

Megaadventures

Let’s embrace the learnings that this new situation is providing us. Let’s believe in the power within us. Let’s pray, meditate, direct our higher vibrations to heal.

Our Universe is telling us something.  We need to open up our hearts to it. Let’s spread the love!

We can get through this together!

Currently, his family home serves as his museum located at 12 de Julio Street. His parents were Pedro Castellanos and Nicolasa Luperón.

His father was a middle-class white man that never recognized him as his son. His mother Nicolasa Duperon, French last name that later changed to Luperon, owned a ventorrillo (rudimentary market stall) that sold homemade foodstuff such as piñonate, a local delicacy made of sweetened pine-nut kernels.

Most of these were sold on the street by Gregorio and his siblings to help the family livelihood. He died at the age of 58 on May 21, 1897.

A distinguished Dominican military general and statesman, he played a pivotal role in leading the restoration of the Dominican Republic following the Spanish annexation in 1863. Considered by some historians as the true independence process of the Dominican Republic, this period marked a significant chapter in its history.

I extend an invitation to explore his museum, where you can immerse yourselves in that era and gain firsthand insights into his life and family. Uncover the rich tapestry of history and delve deeper into the legacy of this remarkable figure.
